- These are the same style of product. Exact same everything except slightly different patented slide connection (e.g. EZ and YardEdge can't connect to each other) and the product uses different painters due to their production plants so the coloring maybe slightly different between the two types.

Difference between Aluminum and Steel?
Steel is more for commercial applications. It is very heavy, will rust and has a sharp edge. The aluminum products are for residential and commercial applications. It is light, flexible, durable, has a rounded top, will not corrode and is designed for professional or do-it-yourselfers.

Is the edging sturdy?
Yes, the edging is sturdy but flexible. It will bend to allow for nice curves or paths or outlining a garden but is sturdy and will hold its shape for years.
Having requested and had a landscape company use PermaLine metal edging to line all of my beds 14 yrs. ago, I liked how easy it was to edge around the beds without hitting and throwing mulch all around. My current DIY project entailed creating a 6" wide trench along the front of a 78' long brick wall, lining and dropping drainage pipe into the trench and then filling with gravel. The best/more permanent option to keep the gravel separated from the lawn was to use metal edging. After some searching of other brands (no black option, shorter stakes, flimsier material, and/or total length options not feasible) settled on the costlier PermaLine because I knew I was getting a quality product. The project turned out great.
Product is easy to use and bends well.
